(May 2, 2016) - The 2016 Charter Review Committee is meeting through the end of July to review the City Charter and recommend amendments. Click here to follow the progress of the Charter review.

Notice of Public Comment Period

(April 15, 2016) - The Department of Community Planning and Economic Development has made the Draft FY 2016-2017 Action Plan available for public review and comment from April 15 - May 15, 2016. Comments may be submitted via e-mail.

Stambaugh Golf Course Now Open

Zoning Dept. Has Relocated

(October 7, 2015) - Effective immediately, the City Zoning Department has relocated to the office of Community Planning and Economic Development. All Zoning permits are now issued at the new location: 20 W. Federal Street, Suite 602 (20 Federal Place Building).

JJC Co-Ed Intramural Sports League for Grades 4, 5 and 6

(August 21, 2015) – Youngstown Department of Parks & Recreation is partnering with C.I.R.V. and Mahoning County Juvenile Court to provide a year round sports program for Mahoning County children in Grades 4, 5 and 6. These programs offer healthier choices focusing on positive social activity while emphasizing good behavior and sportsmanship. Click here for more information about the 2015-2016 program.

Youngstown Awarded State Innovation Grant

(June 5, 2015) - The Ohio Development Services Agency has awarded a $50,000 Local Government Innovation Program grant to the City of Youngstown to help create a Youngstown-Mahoning Valley Manufacturing Training Center. News Release

Mayor's Weekly Spotlight

2016 City Charter Review Committee

The process of reviewing the City Charter, mandated by the Charter to occur every four years, is now underway. Committee meetings began in April and will continue through July 26th, with a public input session on June 28th. The Review Committee will recommend Charter amendments to City Council, who will then decide which of them to include on the November general election ballot.
